Dance games cross-training

Pushing the Pump D23s and D24s taught me that I need to use my arms more when I play dance games.

By like using arms, specifically getting into a posture where I keep my lower body closer to the bars, crouching down as much as possible to activate my glutes, and then leveraging as much of my upper body strength as possible.

The problem with that, is that if I use too much upper body strength, I begin to lose a little bit of my lower body strength if I am just playing dance games. It's noticeable for specific patterns that involve stretching and toeing off.

I started making sure I routinely run like every day or every other day to keep my legs in shape to cross-train, and it seems to be helping a lot with keeping my lower body strength while also being able to use my upper body strength more on dance games without losing my lower body strength.

Before, I was only going like once a week or something like that. The nice part is I don't have to sink a lot of time into running in order to get a good workout in with it that pushes my muscles and keeps them in shape-- just a quick 5K or a little more every day where I try to go as fast as possible and focus on quad and glute utilization seems to do the trick for keeping them in-shape.

I have also been staying at a caloric deficit consistently now, which is really good. My strategy has been to have a light breakfast, then a heavy lunch so that I get the majority of my energy in and digested before my run/dance games in the afternoon, then a light dinner afterwards.

I can really feel the difference with having to carry less weight with me when running and also playing dance games-- even if it's only been a few pounds so far, I feel much more mobile and fast and it makes a massive difference for the harder stuff and finding the energy to push and keep going. 💪😄

Yesterday I weighed my lowest that I've ever weighed in my adult life! I can still lose around 5-8lbs to get to that "max efficiency" bodyfat%, so that's what I'm gonna try to aim for, but I'm kinda just going off of vibes at this point.
