Indoor Soccer Shoes for Dance Games

Love these things. They're called the Adidas Predator Club Indoor Sala.
Dropped my first Gargoyle FS S21 SSS in them.
At first glance, it doesn't make any logical sense why I would perform well in these, because...
They weigh over 133 grams more than my last pair of dance game shoes. But the feeling when wearing them is ultra light, because the materials in the upper feel really quality-- some sort of suede and fake leather padding, with ventilation. The heel lockdown is insanely good (very stiff).

How I'd describe it is the shoe immediately moves with my foot when I move my foot, similar to my track shoes when I first got them, and my rock climbing shoes. I sized down an entire size (US Men's 10 -> 9) because I found out from my track shoe and rock climbing shoe adventures, that I can squeeze into an entire size smaller, break in and stretch out the shoe over the course of a week with a little bit of discomfort in order to get the perfect fit that's personalized to my foot once it's broken in.

So I applied the same principle here and it seems to be going well. I might replace the laces because they feel a little short for lacing up, even though my foot slides in very easily with great lockdown in the shoe which is super nice.

Since these are intended for indoor use, they must have some sort of cushioning for use against hard floor, right? Yeah. It's a different type, and is why the shoe is so hard/stiff/weighty.

Instead of EVA foam, these shoes are just hard rubber on the bottom (like, actual rubber, hence silly tire tread pattern). At first I was skeptical when I saw these on the internet before trying them on in person, but I'm sold on rubber for getting as much shock absorbency as possible in a minimal amount of space. You're able to get a lot more shock absorbency out of rubber in a small area compared to EVA foam, at the cost of weight savings.

The shoes are super minimal in terms of allowing foot feel and perception, but they don't lack protection for the feet which is really nice. I felt like I had unlimited "leg stamina" the other night when I played in them. They're a bit louder than my other shoes because of the extra 130 grams of weight, but I find it actually helps me a lot with hearing my steps in the busy arcade environment. It feels easier to minimize my form and get the feedback I want.

Grip is nice. I classify it as a "dynamic" grip shoe where the shoe grips as much as you put pressure on it. It's not sticky at all, but if you dig into your movements on the stages and purposely build up friction to heat the shoes up, it'll grip better.

I felt very confident playing no bar in them (with clean stages and clean shoes).
