New shoe reviews getting dropped soon

My beloved Asics Tarther RP3 seems to be completely OOS on Asics' website, and was on sale, meaning that they have probably discontinued it.

I own a second pair of them, but nothing else in Asics' lineup seems to appeal to me since all of their recently released models are all super chunky monstrosities of shoes now compared to what they were 2-3 years ago.

I like that one shoe so much in terms of how it feels for playing dance games, so my quest begun to find shoes that are similar in construction.

Some sleuthing around the internet led me to find out that cross-country (XC) athletes still race in light performance shoes designed for XC, known as "racing flats" where shoes designed for said sport feature some cushioning and greater flexibility than traditional running shoes, but also are durable to withstand the elements. It seems like the Asics Tarther RP3 racing flats I got from their website belong to the same family of racing flat shoes-- they weigh in at around 200g.

The other day the Saucony Havok XC3, which was on my Amazon wishlist, dropped to like $35 in my size so I purchased a pair. I also saw that New Balance has a 20% summer discount code, so I ordered their XC flat called the FuelCell XC7 v5. I'm excited to test these out and review them from a dance game doubles player's perspective, because they both seem light, tight, durable, feature some shock absorbency, but aren't so large that they weigh my feet down and prevent me from accelerating them quickly when doing more athletic motions (lunges, twists, etc) on doubles.

Racing flats featuring some shock absorbency is what makes them a million times better than barefoot shoes and minimalist shoes like Xeros in my eyes. It's really important for comfort when drilling with my heels. But they still feel wicked tight and fit like a glove, and super light and grippy compared to other options. I really like those qualities.

I would love to be able to recommend these to dance game doubles players when they ask me about shoes. Here's hoping for the best!
