Dance Games - Vibram FiveFingers V-Run & Leading Your Shots

I got a pair of these a while back because I wanted to give them a try for dance games. I ended up really liking them compared to the other pair of FiveFingers I own (FiveFingers V-Run Retro)! The grip is really good when the panels are clean, and they feel absolutely weightless, at the cost of not having any shock absorbency whatsoever.

The only part that honestly sucks is having to wear toe socks. I like how they feel, but going "oh I have to go put on the special toe socks to wear these things without getting blisters" is annoying. But I'll get used to it. But the fit overall is a lot more comfy compared to the FiveFingers V-Run Retro.

I somehow managed to get them in the blue color, in my size (M10/EU43/28CM) after finding a new old stock listing on eBay a month ago. The blue color of the FiveFingers V-Run is discontinued, they just come in black & orange now.

Last night I put up some monster scores in them on both Pump and DDR.😍

The best comparison I can give that illustrates how much of a difference light footwear makes for doubles is that playing in the FiveFingers V-Run is like using the Direct Hit on Soldier in Team Fortress 2 compared to using the stock rocket launcher.

You don't have to lead your shots nearly as much, which makes it much easier to hit fast-moving targets and gives you more time to react to fast moving targets due the projectile speed of the Direct Hit being much faster than the stock rocket launcher. But the splash damage radius is much smaller as a tradeoff.

This is the case for the FiveFingers V-Run. Because of how light they are, they are much faster and remove any sort of sensation of "shoe lag". I don't have to compensate for the weight of the shoes I'm wearing or "lead my shots" when wearing them. But as a tradeoff, I can't use my heels to maximize coverage of my feet due to the lack of shock absorbency.
